In the not-too-distant future, Boulder residents will be able to whip out a smart phone on a trail and see detailed GPS data about the route, snap a photo of a sign to watch a related video or report potholes and graffiti by taking a picture of it.

At least, that’s the vision of the Boulder’s information technology staff.

And if they can secure the funding, a plethora of mobile apps and Web-based programs could offer new ways for Boulder residents to access city information, report problems and interact with city services.
