COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Hundreds of Fort Carson soldiers are expected to return home to Fort Carson this weekend.
The base is expecting a ceremony for 300 soldiers on Friday, a second ceremony for 200 soldiers on Saturday and another early Monday morning for 225 soldiers.
The soldiers have been serving the past year in Afghanistan. During the deployment, the soldiers were focused on eliminating Afghan insurgency strongholds traditionally held in southern Afghanistan, according to KRDO-TV.
