Burgers get top billing, but no summertime grill is really complete without some sausages, wursts and brats. The problem, at Continental Deli in Cherry Creek North is choosing which kind.

Is it a bison brat night? Pheasant? Veal? Elk jalapeño cheddar?

(If these flavors sound familiar, it’s because Continental, which makes its own sausages here in town, also supplies many of Denver’s most vigorous brat sellers.)

While they wrap up your deli order, browse the shelves for imported groceries, including dried spaetzle, preserved fish and lots of chocolates. And grab a hunk of Hungarian- style cured bacon out of the cooler to take home, dice up, crisp and sprinkle over summertime salads or cold soups.

Lunchtime visitors can order a sandwich made from a full range of deli cuts and piled onto dense rye bread. Take it to go, or grab a table and chow down.

Heads up, west-siders: Continental has a sister deli, Black Forest Deli, located at 9535 W. 58th Ave. in Arvada (303-425-0265).
