A 10-year-old Greeley boy was seriously injured Monday afternoon when he rode his bike out into a street without looking and was hit by a vehicle.
Greeley Police Sgt. Joe Tymkowych said the boy was taken to North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley after the accident at 12:54 p.m. The collision occurred at 3016 17th Ave.
The boy, who was not identified, suffered injuries to his head and leg. Tymkowych said the boy had blood coming out of an ear after the collision and was not wearing a helmet. He said the boy may have suffered a concussion and was being evaluated at NCMC as to whether he broke a leg.
“It appears the child was the cause of the accident,” Tymkowych said. “He came shooting out on his bike in the street and the vehicle didn’t have a chance to stop.”
