The Michigan Wolverines will join DU, Air Force and five other schools in the Eastern College Athletic Conference men’s lacrosse league, beginning as an affiliate member for the 2012 season, ECAC commissioner Rudy Keeling announced Thursday.
The Wolverines, who in May announced they would enter the Division I ranks, will be eligible for the ECAC Tournament and NCAA Tournament in 2013. Michigan has fielded a club lacrosse team since 1965.
The ECAC begins its 14th season in 2012 and includes Bellarmine, Fairfield, Hobart, Loyola (Maryland) University and Ohio State.
