An attorney for rape defendant Marc Patrick O’Leary said Monday he is “in the midst of complex plea negotiations” with prosecutors and could have a deal by next month.
Assistant Public Defender Jeffry Dougan told a judge in Jefferson County that the negotiations have been complicated in part because of additional assault charges filed in Washington.
O’Leary, 33, pleaded not guilty last month to 32 counts, including sexual assault, kidnapping and burglary, in assaults on women in Golden and Westminster and an attempted attack in Lakewood.
Authorities say the attacker stalked his victims, sometimes for months, then broke into their homes while they were sleeping.
