Colorado’s football program picked up two pledges from high school defensive linemen Wednesday, according to the network.
Three-star defensive end Victor Irokansi of Pflugerville, Texas, told that he’s looking forward to signing with CU in 2012.
“I’m going to be a pass-rushing threat when I get there. My first step will beat anybody,” said the 6-foot-3, 230-pound Irokansi.
CU also received a commitment from 6-3, 300-pound defensive tackle Justin Solis of Thousand Oaks, Calif.
Oregon and UCLA have been recruiting Solis too.
Irokansi pledged to play for CU after also considering Army, Iowa State, New Mexico and Texas State. But he hasn’t ruled out changing his commitment if a better situation comes his way.
“As of right now, out of the offers I have right now, I’m 100 percent committed to Colorado,” Irokansi said. “It’s life, though. Something may pop up and I might take an official (visit) to Colorado and I might take an official (visit) somewhere else, and I may find out I like somewhere else better.”
CU, coming off a 5-7 season, opens its first season as a Pac-12 member on Sept. 3 against Hawaii in Honolulu.
