A man was arrested today after another man was fatally stabbed early this morning in Colorado Springs, police said.
The incident happened at about 12:50 a.m. in the 1100 block of Mazatlan Circle, according to a Colorado Springs Police Department media release.
When officers arrived they found two people who had been stabbed, including the 32-year-old fatal victim.
Another man, who is 31, was also stabbed and “sustained substantial injuries,” police said.
He was taken to a local hospital and his injuries are not life-threatening, police said.
Police said 32-year-old Jamie Armando Montez-Hernandez was arrested in connection to both stabbings. He was charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.
“At this point in the investigation, it is believed that all involved parties have been identified and are in contact with the police department,” the release said.
