The NFL owners have ratified an agreement and the players had a conference call, but did not vote on the deal. If players approve the deal Friday, they will be free to report to their team headquarters on Saturday. Here’s what happens next for the Broncos.
Sunday: Teams can start signing undrafted college players. The Broncos plan to sign between eight and 15. The Broncos also have exclusive negotiating rights with two of their own unrestricted free agents, right tackle Ryan Harris and defensive tackle Marcus Thomas. Both players figure to test the free-agent market that will open for business Wednesday.
Wednesday: Players are to report to the Broncos’ team facility at Dove Valley for the first meeting run by new coach John Fox. For many players, it will be the first time they meet Fox and new front-office boss John Elway.
Wednesday: Start of NFL free agency. Players with at least four years of NFL service and expired contracts are free to sign with any team.
Thursday: First training camp workout that is open to the public. Once again, parking and admission are free.
Aug. 12: The Broncos play their first preseason game against Dallas at Cowboys Stadium.
Sept. 12: The Broncos open the regular season with a Monday night game against the Oakland Raiders.
