CANON CITY, Colo.—A man who drowned in the Arkansas River has been identified as a Canon City man who had been missing for about three weeks.
The Fremont County coroner’s office said Thursday that 55-year-old Mike Ruggiere drowned in the river. He was identified after rafters reporting seeing a body in the water.
The man’s friends tell authorities that they last saw him after he jumped in the river to clean up. Authorities say he was homeless.
