An Arvada man was taken to a hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation after a fire at his home Monday.
The fire broke out at about noon at 8884 W. 78th Place, said Scott Pribble, an Arvada Fire Department spokesman. When firefighters arrived, fire and smoke were coming out of windows in the single-family, split-level home.
The only person home at the time escaped along with a pet, but he suffered from smoke inhalation and was taken to Lutheran Medical Center, Pribble said.
It took about 30 minutes for 25 firefighters to put out the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
