DENVER—State agriculture officials are proposing raising the fees to register a brand.

The State Board of Stock Inspection Commissioners has proposed increasing the five-year brand assessment from $225 per brand to $275 per brand, starting Jan. 1. The fees help support operations at the Division of Brand Inspection.

The board also proposes adding an application fee for anyone who is seeking to reinstate a canceled brand.

A public rulemaking hearing on the proposed change is set for Sept. 14 in Denver.
