Look for Bill Saslow’s face on the basket plates of Denver’s B-Cycles.

Today, he made the 100,000th ride of the season on one of the city’s shared red bikes. The program hit the milestone in less than five months this year, compared to seven months last year during its inaugural season.

Saslow is one of 2,165 people who bought annual memberships this year. He said he rides from his office or home to the Denver Athletic Club, where he swims almost every day.

B-Cycle said officials are delighted that they hit the milestone a few months early, especially given the weeks of monsoon weather.

So far this year, B-Cyclers have ridden 205,000 miles, with an average ride of 2.05 miles.
