AURORA, Colo.—Authorities say police impersonators sexually assaulted a woman on a sidewalk in the Denver suburb of Aurora after staging a bogus traffic stop and ordering her out of her car.
Police say the attack occurred early Sunday.
The victim told police she stopped when a sedan that looked like a police car with revolving lights on top pulled up behind her.
Aurora police spokesman Bob Friel says the two attackers wore dark blue, short-sleeve police-style uniforms with gun belts and displayed badges.
No arrests have been made.
