WASHINGTON — The number of people who signed contracts to buy previously occupied homes in the U.S. rose in June for the second straight month, a faint sign of health for a beleaguered part of the economy. The National Association of Realtors’ seasonally adjusted index for pending sales of existing homes increased 2.4 percent.
