Chatfield State Park’s swim beach reopened Friday after unsafe levels of bacteria forced the beach to close Wednesday morning.
Water tests showed that the levels of E. coli bacteria in the water had returned to normal after a spike earlier this week, according to a news release from Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
The increase in bacteria was most likely caused by recent heavy rains and hot weather.
