Construction on northbound Peña Boulevard will begin on Monday.

Commuters traveling toward the airport should expect delays from 64th Avenue to Tower Road, according to a news release from Denver International Airport.

Regular lanes will remain open while crews build a temporary two-lane detour.

The detour should be complete near the end of August, at which time Peña Boulevard will close, and drivers will be re-routed onto the temporary lanes.

Speed limits in that area will be reduced from 65 mph to 45 mph. The project is expected to last 120 days.
