Denver’s string of 90-degree heat continued Friday, as temperatures reached 91, above the predicted 88.
The streak started July 15, when the high was 90. That has been followed by 14 days of high temperatures of at least 90 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The record for consecutive days with highs at 90 or above is 24 days, set in 2008.
The hottest day in the past two weeks was July 22, with a high of 96 degrees. The hottest day so far this month — and this summer — was July 4, when the thermometer reached 99.
The streak isn’t likely to miss a beat today, with mostly sunny skies and a predicted high of 96.
Sunday is expected to mimic today, with a high of 96 and a 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m.
