Chatfield State Park’s swim beach reopened this morning, after a spike in bacteria levels forced the beach to close on Wednesday.

For the fourth time this summer, water test showed an unsafe level of E. coli bacteria in the water, according to a news release from Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

In all four cases, heavy rains and high temperatures caused bacteria levels to increase.

The swim beach, located near Littleton, will be open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., through Labor Day.
