Aurora police today released a sketch of a man suspected in shooting a woman in the head during an attempted robbery on July 29.
The victim was rushed to a hospital but was soon released.
“Despite being shot at close range, the victim did not sustain serious injury,” Aurora police said this afternoon.
Two women said the man jumped out of the bushes and tried to rob them of their purses and car keys in the parking lot at Terrace Park Apartments. When one of the women stepped back, the man shot her and ran off, police said.
He was described as black, in his 20s, about 6 feet tall with a medium or athletic build.
He was wearing gray hoodie and a cap.
There is a $2,000 reward.
