Former Denver Mayoral candidate Chris Romer accepted a job as vice president of of development and educational partnerships at the Community College of Denver, according to a press release Tuesday.

Romer will be responsible for developing and reinstituting the CCD Foundation, with the primary task of raising funds for student scholarship and academic excellence awards.

He will help develop relationships with Denver Public Schools and other school systems. Romer also will assist Interim President Cliff Richardson in establishing new partnerships with area businesses.

Romer in June lost the runoff election for Denver mayor to Michael Hancock.
