Anne Hathaway is one Hollywood star who’s wearing her age like a badge of honor.

“I find the passing of time very liberating,” says the actress, who turns 29 in November. “I feel more confident every, well not every single day, but most days I feel better than I did the day before, and that’s a good thing.”

Hathaway hit the red carpet in New York on Monday night, sparkling in a gold and black Alexander McQueen dress, to premiere her latest romantic drama, “One Day.” She said she feels a sense of freedom about approaching 30.

“For every generation where traditional rules don’t apply, you don’t have to have things figured out by 22 and have four kids by the time you’re 30,” said Hathaway, who’s single but dating and has no children. “We have a lot more time to figure out who we are.”

Case in point, Hathaway says: Meryl Streep, the 62-year-old Oscar winner.

“We have pioneers that show us there’s no reason to be afraid, and I just think fear (of aging) is something that we perpetuate,” Hathaway said. “Who needs it?”

“One Day,” based on the best-selling novel by David Nicholls, follows the romantic journey of two best friends over 20 years. The film, opening Aug. 19, also stars British actor Jim Sturgess.

NEW YORK (AP) — Singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw is recovering after being attacked by a group of men on a city street.

Police say DeGraw suffered a broken nose and a cut to his face after he was beaten up by “unknown male attackers” early Sunday morning in the East Village. An investigation is ongoing.

A statement sent out by his spokesman Monday night says he was taken to Bellevue Hospital in an ambulance and is still hospitalized under observation.

DeGraw has been forced to cancel a planned concert Tuesday in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

DeGraw has a new album, “Sweeter,” due out in September. He’s probably best known for his hit song “Chariot.” ——— Online:

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Paintings, sculptures and other collectibles that once belonged to Tony Curtis are hitting the auction block.

Darren Julien, president of Julien’s Auctions, says original artwork by Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, Henry Miller and Curtis himself will be sold at an auction of property from the actor’s estate on Sept. 17.

Curtis’ own paintings and ceramics are among the items for sale, along with pottery and prints by Picasso, which are expected to fetch more than $3,000 each. Also up for auction is memorabilia from Curtis’ many movies, including the sailor jacket he wore during a kissing scene with Marilyn Monroe in “Some Like It Hot.”

The items will be on view at Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills, Calif., beginning Sept. 6.
