DENVER—A Denver-based nonprofit organization is asking people at music festivals, rock concerts and other events to be tested as potential donors for bone-marrow or stem-cell transplants.

Love Hope Strength Foundation director Shannon Foley says about 30,000 cancer patients in the United States could be helped by a transplant, but only about 3,000 have found a match.

Foley says the recruiting has been successful. Foley tells the Denver Post ( ) the group now has 12,000 potential donors. Foley says 93 matches have been made, including 56 from Colorado.
