AULT, Colo.—Authorities pulled the body of a person from a car found submerged in a pond near Ault.

The Colorado State Patrol says it’s unclear how long the vehicle had been in the water when a trooper spotted it early Saturday. Authorities saw the body of the driver when they began towing the car out of the water.

The Greeley Tribune reports ( ) that the name of the deceased has not been released.

Investigators say the 1986 Volkswagen Cabriolet convertible may have driven off the side of the road and hit a tree before going into the irrigation pond.
