Two cyclists taking a break from pedaling up Lookout Mountain on Wednesday afternoon spotted a body over the guardrail, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The body is that of a man, but authorities have released few other details since the discovery off Lariat Loop Road at 3:20 p.m.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jacki Kelley said there were no indications that the man was a cyclist or a motorist who stopped on the popular route and fell over the rail.
The body was found at the second switchback near the Colorado School of Mines’ letter M, about 2 miles from the base of the mountain, Kelley said.
