Mead’s Denise Lozano was 17 when she had her first son, Juan.
Her husband worked, and she stayed at home, so it was a challenge to pay for everything Juan needed. But when Juan was about 1, Lozano discovered Just Between Friends and starting saving on his clothes, toys, shoes and more.
Two young mothers started Just Between Friends Franchise Inc. out of their living rooms in Tulsa, Okla., in 1997 as a way to help families save money.
Parents can consign new or used children’s items, name their own price and get paid 65 to 70 percent of sales on their items sold. The other percentage goes to pay for advertisement of the sales.
