Colorado Springs will be the headquarters for the new National Collegiate Hockey Conference, the league announced today.

The six-team NCHC will start play for the 2013-14 season. The conference’s home office will be in a building near the Broadmoor.

The six schools in the new conference are Colorado College, Denver, Miami (Ohio), Minnesota-Duluth, Nebraska-Omaha and North Dakota. Five of the team currently play in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA), which is based in Denver.

The new conference is still looking for its first commissioner, as well as venues for the championship tournament. The Pepsi Center is on that list.
