The man who showed a gun to a valet parking attendant this afternoon after a parking confrontation near the Children’s Hospital Colorado was found quickly.
Around noon, nearby University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus police sent out an alert saying a man with a gun was spotted near the hospital.
Surveillance helped campus police quickly locate the man, described as elderly and driving a black pickup truck, said Anchutz Medical Campus spokeswoman Jacque Montgomery.
A heated traffic confrontation with a valet led the man to show the worker his gun. The man, who is legally allowed to carry a firearm, thought the situation was out of control. He pulled out his gun but did not point it at the worker, Montgomery said.
“Fortunately it was a situation that was resolved very quickly,” she said.
