Two Denver-area employees of the American Red Cross are heading to the East Coast to help disaster response to Hurricane Irene, the organization said Thursday. Denver resident Patricia Demchak Billinger, regional communications director for the Mile High Region, will be deploying to New Jersey to provide communications support. John Miller Jr., a Red Cross volunteer from Boulder, will deploy to Richmond, Va., to provide disaster assessment.
