John F. Kennedy at D’Evelyn

Oct. 6, 4 p.m., Trailblazer Stadium

Two high-octane, though quite different, offenses collide with the driver’s seat of the Metro North at stake. Two of Class 3A’s most dynamic talents will square off: D’Evelyn quarterback Caleb Flack and Commanders running back Kyle Trinidad.

Palisade at Battle Mountain

Oct. 7, 7 p.m.

In a wide-open Western Slope race, this showdown could separate the playoff contenders from the playoff hopefuls. This game concludes a crucial three-game stretch for Battle Mountain that also includes Rifle and Glenwood Springs.

Cañon City at Lewis-Palmer

Oct. 14, 7 p.m.

This could be the premier matchup in what figures to be a fierce grind of South Central League play. The teams begin the season ranked and will need a win to keep pace in the top-heavy league. Lewis-Palmer won the matchup 24-15 last season.

Mtn. View at Silver Creek

Oct. 21, 7 p.m., Everly-Montgomery Field

Northern League supremacy could be staked to this one, with a top-of-the- bracket playoff seed perhaps in the balance. Silver Creek will employ its vaunted passing attack against the physical-minded Mountain Lions.

Windsor at Frederick

Nov. 4, 7 p.m.

This regular-season finale, in the last prep game ever played at Alex Tesone Field, could decide the Tri-Valley League winner. Windsor will seek revenge after Frederick rallied in the fourth quarter to win 15-7 last season.
