Denver Mayor Michael Hancock received $208,300 in private donations for his inaugural events and $184,001 to help his transition into the mayor’s office, according to financial records released late Tuesday.
Hancock’s transition from July 1 through Tuesday received 10 donations overall, seven of which were $25,000 apiece from wealthy businessmen, including Larry Mizel, Daniel Ritchie and Tim Gill. Nearly $124,000 was spent on payroll.
Hancock’s inauguration received 32 donations from June 23 through Monday, including three donations of $25,000 apiece from HealthOne, Hensel Phelps construction and Comcast. Expenses for the inauguration ceremony and party included about $56,000 spent on “professional services” and about $30,000 on venues and catering.
