Getting your player ready...

On a holiday weekend when families have plenty of things to do, Carapace Homes has two good reasons to leave the fishing rods in the trunk for an hour, to see two homes that have big discounts in The Conservatory at The Plains, beside Aurora’s Plains Conservation Center. Take a look today, and then contract this week on a family-sized ‘Giovanni’ 2-story, 1,874 square feet with main floor study and 3-car garage, and Carapace will knock off $20,000, bringing it to $284,900.

You can take the discount straight off the purchase price; or if you’d rather, in cold cash – say, bucks toward something to drive into the third garage bay. Next door, Carapace has a ‘Botticelli’ 3-bedroom ranch – 1,799 square feet, with a wide-open kitchen-family area that has big ‘eating island’ plus a dining space designed for a large table. Like the 2-story, it has a full-width 3-car garage; and the buyer that looks now and contracts this week can discount it $15,000, to $289,900.

Carapace’s Mark Lifpitz can talk to you about other ways you could take the money – toward some upgrade…perhaps a basement finish, or an elaborate backyard landscape (the fronts are already done). But you’re not going to find many places to spend money inside either of these homes — both already show garages that are oversized with extra high doors; kitchens that have slab-granite islands surrounding tile-top counters with tile backsplash and bumped up cabinets; and 36-inch fireplaces in granite surrounds. The luxury master suites include big soak tubs in tile, plus oversized, seated shower and his-her vanities.

Lifpitz will also point out the roomy lot size that comes with either of these or with other homes at The Conservatory – home sites that were taken over from another builder, showing extra setbacks between homes. Carapace also provides something that’s hard to find even in expensive custom homes in recent years, particularly in ranch plans – entry foyers that give a sense of arrival, a place to pull off a coat, that’s set apart from formal and family areas.

You can tour two furnished model homes, including the ranch Botticelli, the same plan as the one with the reduced price – as well as a few other homes that are moving toward completion. All have access to The Conservatory’s attractive pool center and community park, each a short walk from Carapace’s neighborhoods…at an HOA dues that’s currently only $27 a month. To reach from Parker Road, take Hampden east five miles to Conservatory Parkway, then north a mile; or from 225 take Yale east past Tower to Wesley, then right and continue a mile.
