The new runway at the Fort Collins-Loveland Municipal Airport has fresh tire tracks from airplanes landing and taking off there for the first time after construction Thursday in Loveland.
The 8,500-foot main runway at Fort Collins-Loveland Municipal Airport reopened Thursday after a 16-day, mad-dash reconstruction project.
The 12-foot-tall, flashing Xs on each end of the runway came down Thursday morning, and the runway officially opened at 8 a.m.
At 8:01, a bright blue-and-orange Suncountry Airlines Boeing 737 jet, a charter flight Laughlin, Nev., was the first aircraft to land on the new surface.
