Police are investigating a homicide in Denver early this morning.

At 1:45 a.m., police were called to the MGM’s Restaurant and Lounge at 4801 Morrison Road on a report of shots fired, said Sonny Jackson, spokesman for the Denver Police Department.

After arriving, officers discovered that a man in the parking lot with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.

The man, whose name has not been released, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police released a description of the suspect’s vehicle, which was spotted a short time later.

The driver failed to stop when police attempted to pull the vehicle over, leading officers on a chase.

The pursuit ended near Interstate 70 and Washington Street.

Police took one person into custody. Investigators are still working to verify the suspect’s name.
