How Regan Smith, racing for Denver’s Furniture Row team, fared Tuesday:
Smith started 26th, moved up to ninth by lap 20, and had settled in to the 20th position when he got caught up in a crash. With 75 laps left, Smith’s No. 78 Chevrolet got turned by Mark Martin, spun and crashed hard into the inside retaining wall. Smith returned after spending 41 laps in the garage and finished 33rd, which dropped him one spot in the Sprint Cup standings to 26th. “At this point I don’t know why I got hit, but it shouldn’t have happened,” Smith said on his website, .
