Residents of a neighborhood near a planned Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints temple — only the second in Colorado — worry about how much traffic the facility would bring to their already congested South Fort Collins area.

A spokesman for the church assures residents that the amount of traffic will be minimal.

And whether the temple gets built depends on two governing bodies: Fort Collins and Larimer County.

The first step, changing the zoning, will go before the county commissioners today — a meeting that at least 20 potential neighbors plan to attend.

But the impact on the neighborhood likely will become an issue for the city of Fort Collins, which is expected to annex the potential temple, according to Larimer County Commissioner Steve Johnson.
