STS9 is no stranger to Red Rocks Amphitheatre because the fans keep coming back. The crossover jam band and electronica act has been a touring powerhouse for more than a decade, though they’ve strayed far from their Georgia roots to introduce traditionally hip-hop and DJ audiences to the appeal of live instrumentation. Factor in a light show that’s among the best in the game, and you can understand why one night at Red Rocks simply isn’t enough. Rapper Snoop Dogg will support tonight’s show; former Boulder electro duo Savoy will open on Saturday. Tickets, $52, are available through Ticketmaster.

Colour Revolt makes a blend of music that might best be classified as “American Gothic.” Not quite metal, not quite art rock, this Mississippi duo makes complex, literary compositions with alternately clean and distorted guitars. Listen to “She Don’t Talk” on Reverb’s Mile Marker series for a sample. Tickets, $10, are available through .
