The number of anglers have dropped off, but not the bite. Recent reports indicate rivers, such as the Poudre, South Platte (upper reaches), Eagle, and Colorado are good bets. Fly-fishers do well with terrestrial patterns and caddis. Browns are hitting streamers and spinners. Front Range yellow perch are aggressive right now, chasing everything. Small lures, jigs and streamers are especially effective at Bear Creek, Boyd and Aurora. Smaller high country waters, such as Red Feather Lakes, are also doing well for stocked trout. Most baits will produce, but fly and bubble rigs during low light hours are especially deadly.
