Anthony Wallace, part of the Rapids’ back-line rotation, will miss the rest of the Major League Soccer season after knee surgery, the team said Monday.

Wallace underwent surgery to repair damaged cartilage in his right knee after suffering a knee sprain in a game against the Columbus Crew on Aug. 5. He was rehabbing the knee when the cartilage damage was discovered, the team said.

After the surgery last week in Denver, doctors determined Wallace would be out the next three months, the Rapids said. He played in 10 games this season, starting in eight.
