For the first time, a limited number of licenses to hunt elk in the Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge in Jackson County will be issued for the 2012 season, with a preference to youths and the disabled, the refuge office in Walden announced Thursday.
Depending on how many of those hunters apply, there could be a drawing for older and able-bodied hunters, the agency said.
All hunters will have to have an existing elk license issued by Colorado Parks and Wildlife for this season.
