Charlie Irwin, the executive director of the GLBT Pride Center, smiled when asked about today’s planned shoot of “Celebrity Wife Swap.”

Producers for the new ABC reality show had been working with Pastor Ted Haggard and his wife, Gayle, who would swap partners with actor Gary Busey and his girlfriend Steffanie Sampson. One of the “swapped” couples was scheduled to be taped today at the Pride Centerto send out care packages to gay and lesbian military personnel overseas.

“Our guests didn’t arrive,” Irwin said, giving special emphasis to the word “guests.”

Because The Gazette revealed details about “Celebrity Wife Swap” and the planned shoot Thursday, the producers scrapped their trip to the Pride Center and went with a plan B.
