DENVER—A man accused of killing a woman who disappeared after leaving a Denver nightclub in March has been sentenced to life in prison.
Travis Forbes pleaded guilty Monday to first-degree murder in the death of 19-year-old Kenia Monge (mon-HAY’).
Remains believed to be Monge’s were found Sept. 7 in a field near Keenesburg, about 40 miles from Denver.
The 31-year-old Forbes planned to plead guilty to attempted first-degree murder in a separate arson and assault case in Fort Collins. He would serve 48 years in prison in that case, plus five years’ parole.
In exchange for both pleas, prosecutors agreed not to seek the death penalty.
The Fort Collins case was to be heard on Tuesday.
