A man and a woman died from injuries sustained in a Colorado Springs motorcycle accident Thursday.
The fatal crash happened about 4 p.m. at the intersection of East Fountain Boulevard and Fountain Street, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.
The motorcycle was heading west when it veered off the road and hit a curb, police said. The motorcycle bounded through the intersection, hitting a second curb and crashing.
The driver, a 48-year-old man, died at the scene.
His passenger, a 46-year-old woman, was taken to a local hospital where she later died.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, police said. Police do not believe alcohol or excessive speed were factors. Neither motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet. Kieran Nicholson, The Denver Post
