A teenager was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Thursday night, after she allegedly smashed her Ford Mustang into an SUV causing it to roll onto its side.
At 10 p.m., authorities were called to an accident near the intersection of 19 Road and K Road near Fruita, according a news release from the Colorado State Patrol.
A 20-year-old woman driving a 2007 Jeep Liberty was westbound on K Road, when the girl, who was driving a 2007 Mustang northbound on 19 Road, crashed into the Jeep.
The Mustang smashed into the back of the Jeep, causing the Jeep to roll and the Mustang to veer off the road and into a fence.
Both the woman and the teenager appeared to have been wearing their seatbelts and had minor injuries.
Their names have not been released.
The teenager was charged with DUI, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, possessing an open container of alcohol in a vehicle, consumption of alcohol by a minor and other charges.
The girl was released to her parents.
