A portion of the light rail line in downtown Denver has reopened after it was been shut down briefly by a toppled pole.

The incident happened just before 2 p.m. near California and 17th streets, said Lt. Phil Champagne, a Denver Fire Department spokesman.

The pole hit an overhead electric wire and the area was blocked off as a safety precaution.

There are no reports of injuries.

The D, F and H lines were effected by the incident but were back in service by 3 p.m.

Trujillo said the light pole was blown down by a strong wind gust.
