MESA, Colo.—Powderhorn Resort has named a former Crested Butte Mountain Resort executive as its new general manager.
Powderhorn said Wednesday that Daren Cole’s first day as general manager would be Oct. 24. He most recently was vice president of sales and marketing at Crested Butte.
He has 18 years in the ski resort and hospitality industries. He was owner and president of Synergy Sales Solutions, which specialized in strategic sales planning for the active lifestyle travel industry. He also was a director of national sales at Vail Resorts Inc. and worked at Purgatory ski resort.
Powderhorn was auctioned off over the summer to longtime ski resort industry executive Andy Daly and Ken and Tom Gart, whose family made their name in sporting goods retailing.
