Getting your player ready...

Shea Homes’ creative BackCountry – Highlands Ranch’s final chapter, played out in its most dramatic natural setting – is a gated neighborhood entirely oriented around views … and on a fall day when the panorama takes on added vibrancy, you can get behind the gates at BackCountry for a special Tour of Homes – a look inside the private clubhouse overlooking 8,200 acres of open space, and into four designer-decorated model/show homes that have been released for sale.

Those panoramic views earn BackCountry a high number of sales from families arriving from out of state. Don Correia from Boston had never lived out West when he and wife Sonya were transferred to Colorado last spring. “You have a vision of what Colorado will look like when you come from the East Coast,” he said from their new home in Shadow Walk. “We liked the individual communities, the views, the parks within it. We fell in love with it immediately.”

Today you’ll get to see everything that captured them … including 18 different models priced from as low as the $350s, by Richmond American, Shea Homes, and Toll Brothers — four luxury model/show homes that have been released for sale at prices from the $950s to $1 million – a first-ever chance to see a semi-custom design for sale by Paragon Homes, plus a custom home on view near BackCountry’s Sundial House. You’ll get to enter your name for gift cards that are being given away this weekend — $100 cards for Visa, Nordstrom and Pottery Barn; $150 to William Sonoma; and others.

Sundial House feels more like a resort than like any community center you’ve ever toured – with spectacular architecture that brings in the views to bar and grille areas, opening to a fitness studio and grotto-style pools. From there, trails fan out into vast open space along high bluffs, including 467 acres that are a private reserve for BackCountry residents.

“Whether they’re from Colorado or out-of-state, our families always tell us how well they adapt here,” says Shea rep Austin Ellis at Shadow Walk. “We have our own Lifestyle Director at Sundial House who is planning events, and kids make friends fast.”

Start your tour from BackCountry’s Discovery Center, just outside the gate as Broadway becomes BackCountry Drive. From C-470 take Broadway south 2.8 miles, past Wildcat Reserve Parkway, and continue straight at Broadway becomes BackCountry Drive. The Discovery Center is on your left, just before the gate.
