Drivers might want to avoid a section of U.S. 285 today and tomorrow while CDOT performs needed rock scaling.
Both directions of the highway just west of C-470 between milepost 249 and 250 will be closed for up to 20 minutes at a time both days between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., the Colorado Department of Transportation said in a news release.
“We will be knocking down loose rock along a 200-foot section of the slope as part of our rockfall mitigation program,” CDOT Maintenance Supervisor Ron Ratzell said in a statement. “To conduct this operation safely, we need to close U.S. 285 intermittently throughout the day.”
Delays are possible along U.S. 285 and alternate routes are advised.
