The Garfield County Sheriff’s Department this evening released the names of two oil-field workers killed when their pickup truck ran off the road and over an embankment southeast of Parachute this morning.
According to an Occidental Petroleum spokeswoman, Andrew Marquez and Travis Oropeza, both 24 and employees of Monument Well Service, were in a company pickup on their way to a worksite in Garfield County. They were last seen at about 5 a.m.
Both men lived in Grand Junction.
The 2011 GMC Monument Well pickup was found at about 11 a.m. in a deep ravine off Garfield County Road 204 at Garfield County Road 492, according to the state patrol.
