A family crossing a street, with the parents pulling a 4-year-old in a wagon, were hit by a car Monday in Colorado Springs.

The incident happened at about 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of Academy Boulevard and Parkmoor Village Drive, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department crime blotter.

Samuel Kinkennon III, 30, his wife, Kelly Kinkennon, 31, and their 4-year-old daughter were crossing Academy in the crosswalk when a tan Oldsmobile on Parkmoor turned left and hit the trio.

The couple, who were taken to a local hospital, suffered serious injuries, police said. The girl in the wagon suffered minor injuries.

Police identified the driver of the Oldsmobile as Shynesia Harris. A traffic investigation by police is ongoing.
